Vani Chandra

I have been added to a figma space for my client project with editing access granted and my name is coming up in the members list however I'm still unable to edit files within the space.

Hey ​@Vani Chandra — welcome to Figma Forum! Thanks brining up the access issues you’re running into — I know how frustrating that can be.

To help us narrow things down, could you check a few things on your end?

  1. What happens when you try to edit?
    Are you seeing any kind of error message? If so, could you share what it says?
  2. Check your share settings.
    Click the Share button and look at the access level next to your name. If it doesn’t say Can edit, you won’t be able to make changes to the design.
  3. Review your team-level permissions.
    Sometimes the limitation comes from the team’s settings.
     Can edit means that editors on the team can edit — not that all members can.
     Your seat type might also play a role. For example, Collab seats have FigJam or Slides access, but the team may need an additional Full seat to edit Figma Design files.
     If your role is currently view-only, your team admin can adjust this from the View members tab of the team page.
