Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with Figma that I hope someone can help me with.

Whenever I export or download images (PNG/JPG) from Figma, the files often appear to be corrupted. They either won’t open at all, or show broken, blank, or distorted areas. This happens both in the browser version and the Figma desktop app.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- Exporting in different formats (PNG, JPG, SVG)
- Changing resolution settings (1x, 2x, etc.)
- Downloading from different browsers (Chrome, Edge)
- Using the desktop app (same issue occurs)
- Clearing cache and restarting

Despite all of this, the issue still happens — especially with large images or frames that include shadows, gradients, or blur effects.

Has anyone else experienced this?
Any idea what could be causing it or how to resolve it?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi there, thanks for outlining all the steps you've already tried ,that’s really helpful context!

Since you've tested multiple formats, resolutions, browsers, and even the desktop app, and the issue still occurs, it would be great that our support team take a closer look at.

I’d recommend submitting a bug report so our support team can investigate further. When you do, it would be great if you can include:

  • A link to the affected file (and grant edit access to support-share@figma.com . Don’t worry, this won’t affect your billing)

  • A short screen recording or screenshots showing the issue. Please, let the team knows which frame in this file you are trying to export as a PNG/JPG or share the PNG/JPG file you are trying to add. This would be helpful for us to try reproducing the issue on their end.

In the meantime, please also check if you have any ad-blocking browser extensions or antivirus software enabled? If yes, you may want to temporarily disable them and see if the issue persists.

Thanks again for flagging this , we’d love to help you get to the bottom of it!
