Hey Julie, that sounds super frustrating. A quick thing to try is restarting Figma and your Mac sometimes input bugs clear up with a fresh start. If it keeps happening, check if "Enable Text Selection" is toggled in Figma’s preferences, and also try switching between the desktop app and browser to see if the issue is app-specific.

Hey ​@Julie_Jacob - I saw that you provided an update separate from here, where you were able to resolve this after a few restarts. I’m not sure what was up, or have any explanation on what happened, but I’m glad that things are working again.
