I am a Education Plan user.
I am unable to find the "Export for Make" button in the publish popup, and this happened in my edu team.

According to your doc, the button should be located there.

Could you please let me know why it's missing?

Hi everyone, Celine from Figma here. I’m working closely with Gayani and happy to clarify! On the Education plan, it’s expected that the “Export for Make” option does not appear in the publish popup.

While Figma Make has some availability for higher education users, the specific export functionality requires a Full seat on one of our paid plans.

If access to this export feature is needed, upgrading to a paid plan with a Full seat would be required. Hope this helps clarify!

Hey @PKM, thanks for flagging this!

Just to double-check, does this library file currently have any published components in it? The “Export to Make” option only appears when there’s at least one published component in the library.

Components are required because the export process uses them to understand how your styles and variables are applied in context. When exporting to Make, Figma extracts things like:

  • Color styles

  • Typography (fonts and hierarchy)

  • Variables

  • Borders and corner radius

If there aren’t any published components yet, try publishing at least one component in the library and then reopen the publish modal to see if the “Export to Make” button becomes available.

Let me know if that solves your issue!

@Gayani_S

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I can confirm I've publish the library. All the Libraries are live since it's visible in the pop-up menus.

Hey @PKM, thanks for confirming that the library is published.

I’ve gone ahead and created a support ticket on your behalf so this can be reviewed properly. Your ticket number is #1772074, for reference. Someone from the team will follow up with you soon.

In the meantime, could you please share one of the impacted files with support-share@figma.com and grant Can View access? That will allow us to try to reproduce the issue and loop in Engineering if needed.

Appreciate you flagging this!
