Design tools not available to toggle - I have purchased Professional Full Seat - why is this feature not working?

I have paid for a Professional Full Seat license at £14 a month and I am unable to toggle and use the Design tools bar at the bottom of the sheet on slides and edit a doc my colleague set up. I also can't use the tools when I set up my own slide. Does anyone have any ideas why this tool work? I contacted support with the problem at 5.30pm yesterday and have still not had a human response or useful Tech bot one. Thanks!

    Hi. Can you share a screenshots?

    Also, make sure the file is located in a Professional team where you have a full seat to access all its features.

      Sounds like you paid personally for a pro plan, for your own personal team. You need to ask your workplace or colleague to pay for it, so you have access to the workplace team.

        Thanks for getting back to me, very much appreciated! I paid personally for it but it's using my work email, I'm freelance so pay for my own software. What is professional team? I didn’t see that option on the price plan.. do you know how I get this? I have attached a photo showing the error message when I hover over the icon that can be toggled to access changes to the slides.

        Figma plans are team-based, not account-based. You've paid for a full seat in your team and can only use all its features in files located within that team, but not outside it.

        You can see the list of all your teams on the home page.

        Are you an owner of Rooftop Stage 1 file? Where is it located?

        Hi Nelly, I have access to documents set up my colleagues yes. Budapest Rooftop is just a jam board in ‘model’ space. I have been invited by another colleague to work on a document he created. This is the first place I noticed I couldn’t toggle the design tools.. but I also noticed when I created my own slides doc. I have attached the screen grab showing my link to the team I work with called Ennismore. Any ideas what I need to do next? Thank you

        Hi. You've paid for a full seat in sofie.wren-hilton's team, but probably don't have one in Ennismore. You have two options here:

        1. Ask the Ennismore team admins to pay for your full seat in their team
        2. Use the Connected Projects option

        I'd recommend the second option so neither of you will need to spend extra money.

        Nellya’s spot on – Figma’s pro features are tied to the specific team, not your personal account. Since you paid for a full seat in your own team, you get all the design tools there, but in the Ennismore team (or any other) you’re still on a free/guest level unless the team admin adds a paid seat for you. The quickest fix without extra cost is usually asking the Ennismore admin to enable “Connected projects” so you can bring your pro tools in.

        Hope you get it sorted fast – nothing more annoying than paying for a feature and not being able to use it!
