I am experiencing a severe technical issue with my account and files. After downloading a file from the Community and re-uploading it to my Figma account, I noticed the following issues across my other existing files (which are unrelated to the community file):

  1. Missing Version History: The version history for my older, unrelated files has completely disappeared. I can no longer see previous iterations or timestamps.

  2. Collaborators Not Showing: All collaborators who were previously invited to these files have disappeared from the "Presence Bar" (avatars at the top).

  3. Real-time Sync Issues: Even when team members are currently active in the file, their cursors and avatars do not appear for me, and my presence does not appear for them.

Hey @Abdelmoneim Reda , thanks for flagging this! That definitely doesn’t sound like expected behavior.

Just to clarify: downloading a file from the Community and re-uploading it shouldn’t impact other unrelated files in your account.
The issues you’re describing (missing version history, collaborators not showing, and real-time presence not syncing), point more to a potential permission, or sync issue rather than something caused by that specific file.

A few things worth checking:

  • Access level / workspace: make sure you’re still in the correct team/workspace where those files live (especially if you belong to multiple teams)
  • Connection / session: try refreshing the page or logging out and back in to reset real-time sync
  • Different browser or app: test in another browser or the desktop app to see if that helps.

If the issue still persists, I’d recommend reaching out directly our support team to take a closer look at your account (since this is affecting multiple files and core functionality).

Please submit a support request, to do that: Go to the Support Hub / Type “Report a bug” / Click Start a chat and select Enter /
In the form, include:

  • Links to a few affected files and grant "Can View" access with support-share@figma.com. This allows us to reproduce the issue and investigate, thanks!
  • Approximate time when you noticed the issue
  • Screenshots or a short screen recording if possible

They’ll be best equipped to investigate what’s going on, thank you!
