Create new file keeps flickering so new file can't be created

When I want to create a new file in my project the dropdown keeps flickering. I can’t create a new file

Hey Johanne,
Thanks for flagging this. Could you let me know if the flickering occurs in the browser, desktop app, or both?

In the meantime, if it happens on Figma desktop please make sure:

  • You're using the latest version of Figma by checking for updates:
  • Try clearing the cache and force quitting to see if that resolves the issue, you can follow the steps in this article here.

For Mac:

  • Quit the Figma desktop app.
  • Open the Terminal app.
  • Enter the following command: rm -rf "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Figma"
  • Try opening the desktop app again.

For Windows:

  • Close the Figma desktop app.
  • Open the Start menu, and paste in this command: %APPDATA%\Figma
  • In the window that opens, delete the Desktop and DesktopProfile folders if they exist.
  • Launch the desktop app again.

 And, in Figma browser, please make sure it is well set up by following the steps in this article: How do I configure my browser for Figma? and clear the cache of your browser.

Hey Celine,

 

It occurs on both - WIndows and Chrome.

I followed your sugestions and the problem persist. I have reported it as a bug :)

I am having the exact same issue in the Windows desktop app and on the web for weeks and I can’t create any new projects.
