"Copy Design" feature prompts upgrade even with Education Account

I created a file using Figma Make in a Starter account, then shared it with my higher education Education account.

In the Education account, I had edit access and have tried transferring ownership from free to education account, and duplicating the file. When I attempt to use the Copy design feature, I am prompted to upgrade to a Professional plan, even though higher education accounts should have access to this feature.

The issue persists regardless of file ownership or duplication.

Hi @ilc, thanks for reaching out about this!

From what you’ve described, you should have access to the Copy design feature in Figma Make with your Education plan. But since you’re being prompted to upgrade to a Professional plan, you may not have access to AI features.

Most AI features and settings will not be enabled for users who are a part of an Education plan.

  • Figma Make is available for higher education or bootcamp Education users, but it is not available to K-12 users.
  • If you have any further questions, please contact education@figma.com.
