Converting a line of text to a frame selection crashes Figma entirely!! I've restarted it seven times !

I’m followingg the beginner tutorial. I’m on chapter 14. The converting of ONE LINE OF TEXT to a frame selection freezes everything and forces me to restart, then I do the same 1000 times and still not working. It’s a bug!

Hi ​@Monealiza, — thanks for flagging this, and sorry to hear you’re running into trouble.

 

I just tested chapter 14 of Figma Design for beginners in my own file and wasn’t able to reproduce the crash. Can you confirm if this happens when you right-click on the text layer and choose Frame selection, or when using the keyboard shortcut — or both? Also, is this happening in the desktop app or the web version?

 

If you haven’t already, please check that you're on the latest version of Figma (desktop version is 125.4.9). If the issue persists, let me know what operating system you’re using and I’ll dig in further from there.

The bug is still happening this morning. I just tested it/

I just typed out a line of text and right clicked to choose frame selection (I use a Wacom. So Wacom equivalent of right click. No other issues) .

THen, I am frozen. Can’t choose anything, Can’t hand-surf the canvas.

I will restart Figma. Do it again,  and freeze again. Over and over.

I just subscribed so I’m on : 125.4.9 for Desktop. 

I was using the app all weekend .. this is the one big bug.
I’m a designer with 25 years experience.

Soooo. On the third restart of my project file, it works. No freezing on Frame selection.

Very odd though as just moments ago, it froze the interface twice. Putting me on edge :-P

Anyway, I’ll take it!
