Component's text property doesn't render text when updated via the property panel

I’ve created a button component that has a text label inside of it. I applied a text property to the text label so the text can be edited. The button has several size variants. The text property will update for ALL variants except the default size. 

I have tried resetting my browser. Closing all instances etc. Nothing works and so far there is no forum topic for this specific issue.

Please help me out
