Component & Layer settings in right sidebar do not exist

I was reading some tutorials from Figma Learn to get a sense of how to use components, and in several of the tutorials they mention using a settings tab in the right sidebar either by clicking the three dots or going to component configuration tab. I do not see any of the information that the tutorials present when I do that. The only thing that shows up when I open the config tab is a description box where I can write a description for the component and a box to paste a link to documentation. There are no details about the layer or component as are shown in the tutorial previews. I don’t know if this is a problem with the version of Figma I have - the newest one I believe, since I only recently started using the program on my work computer - or if it’s a problem exclusive to the browser version of Figma (I am unable to download the desktop app on my work computer for some reason that I haven’t been able to fix). I have also searched the support forum for answers and nobody else seems to be having this problem or anything remotely similar. Please let me know what I can do.

Hi @Sasha Slavashevich, thanks for reaching out!

This definitely sounds odd. To better understand what you’re seeing on your end, are you able to share a screenshot of your canvas including your right Design Panel? And may I ask if when looking for the Create component icon or the Component Configuration Settings, do you have a layer selected on the canvas?

It may be helpful to note that it is expected to not see the Create component icon or the Component configuration settings, if you haven’t selected anything on the canvas.
