Complaint: The "You're subscribed because you viewed this file in Dev Mode Unsubscribe" doesn’t link to an actual unsubscription page.

After I click “Unsubscribe” it only opens the design file in Dev mode and I find nowhere to unsubscribe (or at least not clear enough to finish this task), which is pretty frustrating.

Hi @Ruoling_Wang

I understand how frustrating it must be to click “Unsubscribe” and be taken to a design file instead, without a clear way to complete the unsubscribe process.

Thanks for sharing this feedback! I’ll pass it along to our team. In the meantime, could you please let us know which email address you’re seeing this issue with?

Since we’re not able to assist with account-related issues directly here on the forum due to security and privacy reasons, I’ll go ahead and create a support ticket(#1686804) on your behalf to help confirm whether the subscription was canceled. If it turns out the subscription wasn’t canceled, our team can assist you with completing the unsubscribe process.

Thanks!

Thanks for replying here!
I received responses both in this thread and via email, and I continued the conversation over email with Figma Support.

They clarified that the unsubscribe banner only appears in the browser, not in the desktop app, which explains the behavior I was seeing.

From my perspective, this is more of a user experience issue, and I’ve already shared suggestions for improvement with them. I’ve received the clarification and help I needed now — thanks!

I just encountered the same issue. After clicking “unsubscribe” the file opens in Figma, which is absolutely not what I want. Not only I was subscribed against my will - it happens automatically after I simply open a file in dev mode - but the unsubscription process also forces me to view the file I’m not interested in anymore. Although I knew where to look for the notifications settings in the file and managed to make sure I’m actually unsubscribed, but what I ideally wanted - is not to be subscribed to these notifications at all. Or, at least, the unsubscribe link from the email to open a plain “you’re unsubscribed” web page without opening the file.
