When exporting a session to PNG, the session title is rendered incorrectly if it contains Chinese characters. The characters are either missing or not displayed at all.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create a session with a title that includes Chinese characters (e.g., 會議紀錄)

  2. Export the session as a PNG

  3. Observe the exported image

Hi @Jason Chiang

Thanks for reaching out about this issue. I'm trying to reproduce what you're experiencing on my end, but I need a bit more clarity.

Could you help me understand what you mean by "session" in this context? I've done some basic testing by exporting a simple frame from a Design file containing the text "會議紀錄" (meeting minutes), and it exported without any problems on my end. I feel like I might be missing some key details about your specific workflow. Would you be able to provide more detailed steps to reproduce this issue? A screen recording showing your entire process would be very helpful for troubleshooting!

Thanks!

Toku

Sorry, the “Section” (shift + s).

Hi @Jason Chiang

Thanks for clarifications! I tested on my end and it seems to be working fine on my end. I attached the exported section, so could you please check it?

If you can share the screenshot or screen recording, that would be helpful for me to understand!

Thanks,

Toku

Hi @y_toku ,

I have the same issue. I recorded the screen, but I can't upload the MP4 video file here. Even after packaging it into a ZIP file, it still fails to upload successfully. Could I send the video file to you via email? Thanks!

@y_toku Moreover, it's strange that for the same file, a picture was exported on October 16th, and it worked perfectly fine back then. But later, starting from some day I can't pinpoint exactly, the export function began having this issue!

Hi @jiezhengj! I’ll be helping you out with this 😁

Are you able to share the file that you originally noticed the problem on? Also -- if you review your file, can you review your version history to see if you can find one that may surface this better? Recommend starting between ~October 14 through October 17.

Please do the following:

  • Share edit access to all the relevant file with support-share@figma.com. This is our official Figma support account for file sharing.
  • File a help ticket here, and include a direct URL to the file[s] you’ve shared access to.

Once you’ve done that, please let me know and I will escalate the inquiry for further assistance.

Thank you!
