Hey there,

I’m looking into a component in DevMode and I noticed that when opening the playground, if I change the variable mode, the fonts aren’t changing, like the colors for example.

In design mode, by changing the variable it all works just fine.

Is this a known issue, are there any solutions…?

Thank you!

Hi @Bruno31,

Thanks for reaching out. I tested it on my end, and it appears to be working as expected (see below).

If I'm misunderstanding the issue, could you please share a screen recording of what you're experiencing or provide a little bit more details so we can investigate further?

Thanks!
Toku

This is strange,

Is exactly that what I want to do, and I made a sample like you have and it works, however in my main file (sorry can’t share a video) doesn’t work and is set up the exact same way… Otherwise the variable mode wouldn’t work in Design mode, but only in Dev Mode it has issues

Is it required for the variables to be defined in the same file where the component is? Or is it fine if I have the variables in the “Style Guide” file and the components in the “Component Library”? That’s really the only difference that I see that could prevent dev mode from changing the fonts. But again, the colors are also separated and they work just fine

Hi @Bruno31

Thanks for providing the details! I followed your steps and tested using a variable from the library file, and everything worked fine on my end.
