Changing email adress doesn't work

Hi, 

I only want to change my emailadress, but when I want to try I got the following message:
“Cannot update email - "-TlaOfMJzVdfPFeCsF1iADMThi4UPDoyADsS6ZvFbE4" is already taken”

So I know,  the new emailadress already exists (used for an other account in Figma), so I tried to delete that account (got no files in there), but when I want to delete that one, I got the following message “An error occurred while attempting to delete your account.”

I can’t get out of this loophole, and don’t have any other options. What am I doing wrong? 
I already erased my cookies/cache and that kind of stuff.

Hey ​@Martijn_IXLY, thanks for reaching out! 


Figma only allows you to update your email to one that isn’t already associated with another Figma account. Since the new email already exists on a separate account, that’s why you’re seeing the “email already taken” message.

If your goal is simply to use the second email to own or manage the files, you don’t actually need to change the email on the original account. You can move files or projects from a team owned by email 1 into a team owned by email 2. 

If you’d like to still update the email address of the first account, I can help get you connected with our Support team so they can look into the account deletion error.

Thanks for your reply. 

I don’t know what happened, but I did managed to update my email. I did nothing different than earlier, but now everything worked as it worked, no error messages at all :)
