Hello Figma Support,

I am currently facing an issue with the "Change to" interaction feature. Despite setting up my interactive components properly, the "Change to" action is not triggering the expected state or swap.

Hello @Apoorva Gaur,

I understand you're facing an issue where your "Change to" interaction isn't triggering, even though you've set up your interactive components properly. That sounds frustrating!

I just quickly created an interactive component and added an instance to preview it on my end, and it seems to be working as expected.

To help us understand exactly what might be going on with your setup, could you please share a video recording or some screenshots demonstrating how you've set up the interaction and what you're currently seeing? This will really help our community figure out what's happening and how we can best assist you.

Also, you might have already checked these, but just in case, here are a couple of related guides that might be helpful for reference:

Thanks,

I'm experiencing an issue where setting the interaction to “After Delay → Change to Variant]” results in no visible change—the component doesn't switch states at all. I've tested this across multiple components, variants, and frames, using different delay durations (e.g., 200ms, 1000ms), but it still doesn't work. Interestingly, other triggers like Hover and On Click work perfectly with the Change to action, so the problem seems specific to the “After Delay” trigger.

I did the same process for yellow rectangle using same values.

Hi there,

Thanks for sharing the additional details and screenshots.

From your first and second screenshots, it looks like you've created an interactive component called "Rectangle 9" with the following setup:

  • Trigger: After delay
  • Action: Change to (Just a quick reminder: the "Change to" interaction only works between component variants)
  • Animation: Smart Animate

I tried setting up an interactive component with a similar configuration on my end, and it seems to be working as expected:
