Mr Anderson

I got an error while opening the file

Something went wrong...

Our team is looking into it now. If refreshing the page doesn't work, check our status page for updates.

My file is crashing instantly on load with an 'Out of memory: Soft OOM' error. It hits the WASM 2.3GB limit (high water mark is ~2319MB), so I cannot even open it to access the Version History and delete heavy assets. Could you please manually restore this file on your backend?

Hi @Mr Anderson, welcome to Figma Forum and thanks for providing this level of detail.

I see what you mean — if the file is hitting the WASM memory limit on load, there's no way to get in and trim assets through version history on your end. This is the kind of thing that typically needs a deeper look from our Product Support team.

The team has your request under ticket: 1996767, and I've shared your post so they have the full context with your report. They'll follow up at the email tied to your Figma account as soon as possible.

In the meantime, it may be possible to access an earlier version of the file from the file browser — without needing to open it. The steps are outlined here: Reduce memory usage in files → Access locked files. The key is finding a version from before this file issue started. If none of the earlier versions open, we’ll have to rely on Product Support to take a look behind the scenes.

Appreciate your patience. Please let me know if anything changes in the meantime.
