Hi Figma Support,

I am unable to find several of my Figma/FigJam files that I previously created and used for my coursework. I shared them with my teachers for review, but the files belonged to my account.

I have searched my workspace, checked all available projects and the Trash folder, but I cannot find them. When I open the old links, I receive the following message:

“We couldn’t find that one. This file may have been deleted, moved, or made unavailable.”

I am not sure what happened to these files and whether they were deleted, moved, or if there is another issue with my account.

👋🏻 Hey @Khrystyna, welcome to Figma Forum. I'm sorry about the missing coursework files.

There are a few things that could explain the "couldn't find that one" error, and narrowing down which one applies will help us figure out what's recoverable. Please check the following:

  1. Account and login. Were these files created under the same account you're logged into now? If you've ever used a different email or signed in through a school account, the files may live on a separate account: Switch between accounts.
  2. Team or Drafts. Were the files stored in a team project (e.g. a school or class team), or in your personal Drafts? If they were in a team that was deleted, there's a 28-day window to restore it: Restore a deleted team.
  3. Check with your teachers. Since you shared the files for review, your teachers may still have a working link or a copy — worth asking.
  4. Saved links. Check your browser history or bookmarks for any direct file URLs you may have used before.

I've opened a ticket with our Product Support team so they can look into this from their end as well. Your case number is: 1997549. Please check the inbox tied to your Figma account for their follow-up.

For general reference on file recovery: Delete and restore files → Troubleshooting.

Thanks for taking the time to review these spaces. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if any questions remain.
