Hi, I am a design student at DJ Academy of Design, and have been using Figma Education for a while. Today I opened my file and it says I can only view and comment. When I tried to verify again, it showed “Verification limit exceeded.” I've tried multiple times and uploaded the proper documents but I’m not able to get done with my verification.

Why is this happening when all my documents are correct and I've made sure everything is proper. Now I’m not able to edit my own files and couldn't work and also I’m student and who have lots of courseworks to be done. This verification is not really helping right now.

Can you please help me reset my verification or fix this issue so I can get back access to editing my files?

Hi @Amrutha P R -- sorry for the trouble with this. If you receive a “Verification Limit Exceeded” message, please contact SheerID directly. They have an improved process for handling these errors and are best equipped to review your case and advise on next steps. Even if you've contacted them before, their updated system ensures a more efficient resolution.

Figma cannot review documents or confirm individual user eligibility.

To ensure your application progresses, please respond promptly to any requests for additional information that SheerID may send via email.

To give you further information:

If you don’t have, or are currently working on an appeal with SheerID for verification of your account,

  • Teams with 3 or fewer files will automatically move to the free Starter plan
  • Teams with 4 or more files will show as expired, and you’ll be able to download files, move them to another team, or upgrade to keep working

You won’t lose any of your existing files, but they’ll become view-only, and editing will be locked until you upgrade your team or transfer the files to a Starter or Professional workspace. You can find out how to purchase an upgrade here if you ultimately go down this route.

Hope this helps - thank you for your patience and understanding.
