Can't use figma library in Make anymore

I understand you're looking for a way to select your library in Make as you did before the recent update.

With the introduction of "Make Kits," libraries are now brought into Make by being added to a kit. Unfortunately, there isn't an option to opt out of this new process at the moment.

When you select "Use library" in Make, it opens a new workflow where your library is added to a Make kit. You can find the full instructions in these help articles:

I understand that, but the point is I am not able to create any UI kit through the library and neither I am able to use my library as it is.

There are some files, where I can see my library (maybe as a UI kit) but in some i can’t see that

Thanks for the follow-up and for providing more details.

I tested this on my end and was able to select a library using the steps below:

1. Open a Figma Make file > Settings > Create a kit > Assemble a kit
2. In the “Assemble your kit” modal, select “Library” on the left, then choose a library from the list.
3. Click “Add selected.”

If your library doesn't appear in step 3, please ensure it has been published and that it contains styles or variables.

same issue, unable to create a kit the option isnt available in the settings in figma make file. attaching a screenshot. is this different for professional paid plans and organization paid plans. I currently have a professional paid plan with a full seat.

• Creating a fresh Make file
• Clicking the gear icon 
• Showing the options in the dropdown

Using a fresh Make file on a Mac using the desktop app, this is what I see:

Ive got the same. I dont know how i can add my desing system to a Figma Make file, or make a UI kit.

A couple of things could explain what you're seeing:

• The Make file already has prompts or edits in it. Create a kit only appears in a file that's still completely untouched, once you start building, that option drops out of Settings.
• If you're a guest on an Organization account, guests currently can't create Make Kits regardless of seat type, only full members can.

If it's the first one, here's how to get a kit set up with your design system:

1. Open a brand new Make file (don't prompt or edit anything in it yet).
2. Click the Settings icon in the top-right corner and select Create a kit.
3. Choose Assemble your kit, then select your published Figma Design library from the list — make sure it's published and contains styles or variables.
4. Click Add selected, then publish the kit.

Once it's published, you can select it in any Make project going forward. If you've already got work built out in your original file, you can bring it over by downloading the code from there and uploading it into the new kit-enabled file.

After a few hours it finally worked. The previous method was way more easy to do.

Glad you got it working. Since a few other people in this thread (and probably future readers) are dealing with the same thing, I want to make sure I understand exactly what got you there:

• When you say the previous method was easier, do you mean selecting your Figma Design library directly in Figma Make the way it worked before Make Kits, or something else?
• And when you say it "finally worked" after a few hours, was that the kit creation steps from my last reply, or did you end up doing something different?

Knowing which one it was will make this thread a lot more useful for anyone landing here with the same issue down the line.
