Can't use big nudge while measuring distance

I can’t use shift + option + {arrow key} to move an object WHILE measuring its distance to another object. Am I tripping here? I’m pretty sure this was possible until yesterday, I use it all the time to organize frames over bigger distances.

Now it weirdly cycles through measuring distances around other close-by objects. So annoying.

Hello everyone — stepping in for @djv today with some good news: Our engineering team identified the root cause of this issue and has rolled out a fix. ✅

💡 Please reload the tab you’re working in and the shift + option + {arrow key} shortcut should now work as expected.

Thank you all for flagging this and for your patience while we worked to get things back on track.

I’m having the same issue — I suspect it’s due to a change in the latest Figma update.

I’m experiencing the same issue.

Hey everyone,

I’m facing a really strange and frustrating issue that started just last night. The Shift + Alt + Arrow shortcut to nudge an object while seeing its distance to others has completely stopped working as it should.

Before last night, it worked perfectly. Now, instead of moving the selected object, it just cycles through the measurement targets to the adjacent objects. The object itself doesn’t move at all.

This was so disruptive to my workflow that I even did a fresh reinstall of Windows, but the problem is still there.

Here’s what I’ve already tried, with no success:

  • Testing on the web version of Figma.
  • Creating a brand new Figma account and testing it there.
  • Completely uninstalling and reinstalling the Figma desktop app.

I’m on Windows. It’s really weird that it was working fine one day and is broken the next.

Has anyone else experienced this? I’m running out of ideas. Is this a new bug from a recent update?

Same here, pretty annoying. It seems to work fine on browser for me.
Also I have a different Figma profile on the same desktop app and works fine too, so in my case it just affects one of my profiles on the desktop app.

Same problem for me. Appeared at 2025-10-24. Strangely enough, there is no issue on the same client when I switch to another profile (non business).

This exact problem is happening to me today. I have done all the troubleshooting steps, including restarting my computer, and nothing has worked. Has been going on for the last 30 minutes. Can you please fix this asap? I have a deadline and this is really slowing me down.

Same exact problem just started for me. Reloaded the tab, restarted Figma, restarted machine. Not working correctly in browser, or in the app.

muhammad_mirzaei

Oh, the problem is back again. This was the same issue that the Figma team had fixed before, but it has recurred. It’s really frustrating to encounter this again. Please fix this issue as soon as possible. Thank you.
