Can't insert emojis via Windows Emoji Panel (W+.)

Opening the Windows Emoji Panel (Win+.) works, but clicking any emoji fails to insert it anywhere in Figma.

Test and failed: Canvas text layers, layer names, page names, component names... (everywhere)
 

Additional notes: 

  • This issue only occurs in the Figma Desktop App, browser works properly.

    I can confirm this is a bug in the windows desktop app. Same thing on Windows 10. It appeared with one of the recent updates. Previously, inserting symbols or emojis using Win + . worked correctly. Hopefully they will fix it soon

    Thanks for your post, ​@Ying_Lisa, and thank you for the reply, ​@Andrew_Grow! We’ve taken this to the team for review, and I’ve noted that this affects both Windows 11 and Windows 10. 

     

    Copying and pasting an emoji works correctly, though, right? Meaning, it’s only when using the Windows Emoji Panel where you see the issue? I’m both thinking of that as another temporary solution and also just to rule out any other issues. 

     

    Once I have more info to share I’ll reply again. Thanks for your patience!
