Can no longer access figma plugins

I am using a professional plan but have suddenly lost access to plugins. They are now blocked by a popup that wants to convert the account to a full seat.

I updated Figma this morning but the issue remains.

All plugins are triggering this popup when selected.

Would appreciate any help to resolve this bug as I’m unable to export variables which is a big issue for development.

Clicking Actions and then selecting a plugin

The plugin is blocked with this popup and there is no option to just use the plugin

Thanks for following up on this. The popup appeared because some plugins require a specific seat type to run. In your case, the plugin you clicked on requires a ‘Full seat’, so the CTA prompted you to “continue,” which unintentionally upgraded your seat so the feature could load. (Please note, not all plugins require a Full seat -- it depends on the plugin).

I can also see that you’re already working with our Support team on this. They’re currently waiting for a bit more information from you so they can review your subscription setup and help resolve the seat and plugin issue. Please continue the conversation directly in your support ticket so they can assist you further. I’ve closed the topic here for now, thank you!

Hi @Peter Wallace , Celine from Figma here, happy to assist! Thanks for reaching out. I can see you’ve already contacted our support team, which is the right step for this kind of issue!

From what I can see here, the behavior you’re seeing may be related to how your subscription is currently set up. Since this involves billing and account-specific details, the support team is best equipped to review it securely.

I have escalated your support ticket internally. (For reference, your case number is #1610703). I’d recommend to continue the conversation directly with our support team. Once the subscription details are clarified, the team will be able to help you regain access to plugins. Thank you for your patience!

Thank you @Celine_ for the prompt reply - the popup has caused the subscription issues by forcing it to full seat when clicking continue - any idea why it is there in the first place?

Hi,

@Celine_  I am experiencing exactly the same problem, have tried all the troubleshooting methods but nothing helped. @Peter Wallace did you manage to get this bug fixed?

Hey @AB, could you double-check whether you’re on a Full seat rather than a Collab seat?
Just to clarify the issue here: some plugins require a Full seat because they need edit access in Figma Design files. That’s why you saw the prompt asking you to upgrade to a Full seat. With a Collab seat, you can view and comment access in Figma Design files, but you won’t have edit permissions (and certain plugins depend on that).

Hope this helps clarify!
