Bug with local fonts

Hi!

My local fonts suddenly stopped working. I reinstalled them and downloaded new ones additionally - they didn't appear in Figma.

I reset the cache in Figma, reinstalled the application, logged in from the web version, reinstalled the Figma Agent - nothing happened

After all, this means that local fonts are available in the web version, in particular, "Download fonts for personal use at a paid rate." is in Desktop version

I work with mac os sequoia 15 7 3

Hey @Gate Automobile, thanks for reaching out!

I can see you've tried troubleshooting with cache reset, full reinstall, Figma Agent reinstall, and even trying the browser. Thank you for trying that already!

Before I dig in further, one thing you mentioned caught my attention: the message about "Download fonts for personal use at a paid rate" appearing in the desktop version. Could you clarify where exactly you're seeing that? Is it appearing in the font picker when you search for your installed fonts? That'll help me work out whether the fonts simply aren't being detected, or whether something else is going on.

In the meantime, here are a few things worth checking on macOS Sequoia 15.7.3:

  1. Confirm your fonts are visible in Font Book. Open Font Book (⌘ Space → "Font Book") and check your fonts are listed there and not showing as disabled. If they're not in Font Book, they won't be detectable by Figma either.
  2. Check whether FigmaAgent is actually running. Open Activity Monitor (Applications → Utilities → Activity Monitor), go to the CPU tab, and search for "FigmaAgent". If it's not listed, opening the Figma desktop app should restart it automatically. If it is listed but fonts still aren't showing, try force-quitting it from Activity Monitor, then relaunching Figma.

Our Help Center has full steps for both of those: Troubleshoot the Figma Font installer

Let me know how it goes! If that doesn't get things moving, I can get you connected to our support team.
