While I was working suddenly frames disappeared, when I try to reach certain restore point before that they are there, but when you restore to that point, frames are not visible and it doesnt recognize that I rolled back anything.

Hey @Vojislav Vojvodic, thanks for the extra detail and for the screenshots!

Since it vanished before the "Update" prompt even showed up, and your restore attempts didn't stick after a refresh, this lines up with something our team is actively looking into around version history and restores. I don't have a fix or timeline to share yet, but I've passed along what you've described here so it can help with the investigation.

Two things that might help if this ever comes up again:

  1. If a restore doesn't seem to be sticking, try duplicating the version instead of restoring it in place. Duplicating opens that content in a brand new file without touching your original, so you've got a safe copy either way.
  2. If you'd like our team to look into a specific file directly, opening a request through our Support Hub is the way to go. I'm not able to pull up account or file specifics here on the forum for security reasons, but our support team can dig into a case like that once it's submitted.

Really glad your colleague was able to get everything back for you! I'll leave this thread open in case anything else comes up, and thanks again for documenting this so thoroughly.

Thank you,
Gayani

Hey @Vojislav Vojvodic, thanks for reaching out!

A few questions so we can dig in:

  1. Where are you seeing this? Browser, desktop app, or both? If browser, which one and what version? And what OS and version are you on (e.g., macOS 15, Windows 11)?
  2. Was anyone else editing the file at the same time, and had you been using the Figma agent, a plugin, or an MCP integration around when the frames disappeared?
  3. Right before they vanished, did the file crash, or did you reload/refresh the browser or desktop app?
  4. When you open version history now, are the missing frames visible in any of the listed versions (even older ones), or gone from all of them?
  5. After clicking "Restore this version," does a new version appear at the top of your history, or does nothing visibly change?
  6. Are you working in Figma Design, Make, or FigJam?
  7. Can you confirm the frames aren't just off-canvas, on a different page, or toggled hidden?

A screenshot or short screen recording of what you see in version history would help a lot too.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Hello,

I was using Figma desktop app. OS is Windows10

I was only one who was working on file at that moment. Right before this happend ‘Update’ appeared on left top corner.  Whole section vanished. only two franes that were not part of section was visible. I tryed to restore 2 restore pointa before this and it showed me that version but after confirm restore point it reload screen and again everything vanished again ( only two frames left that were not part of section  ). So basically i was not even able to access restore point aswell, tryed multiple times and even reset PC and Figma coupke times also after I update Figma and it was same. Early morning collegue did manage to restore it and now Im able to see content

Hey @Vojislav Vojvodic, thanks so much for the detailed follow-up!

Glad to hear your colleague was able to get your content back this morning! Since it sounds like the restore attempts didn't actually bring the section back on your end even after a few tries, I'd like to get this properly logged so our team can dig into why. Two more quick things would help:

  1. Were you working in Figma Design, Figma Make, or FigJam?
  2. Right before the section disappeared, had you clicked "Update" to bring in changes from a main branch, or was any plugin, widget, or MCP integration active in the file at the time?

If you're able to share a short recording of what you saw in version history (even now that it's resolved), that would give our team something concrete to look at too.

Thank you,

Gayani

Hello,
I was using Figma Design, It vanished before I pressed ‘Update’,I was thinking maybe it causing problems because my app was not up to date. No,I did not used any plugins, widgets or MCP integration at that time.

Photo 1 i moment when everything vanished, whole section. Photo 2 was how it looked before it vanished. This version collague restored because I was not able to also I did note for restore point, but I was not able to restore it later on.
