Creating a comment in FigJam will often cause cursor to get stuck in Hand Tool mode. Especially so on click and drag to create a comment area selection.
Only way I’ve discovered to release the state and return the cursor to Pointer / Select Tool is to click create new tab, or navigate to another tab, and click back. It’s a common mis-click and leads to significant efficiency disruption.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm having the same issue. I was trying to write and move text when the above issue occurred. Here's how to fix it: Close and reopen the Figma app/web. If that doesn't work, reboot your PC. That will most likely resolve the issue. (Hand tool Bug)

I have the same issue on windows 11.

When I use Hand mode, it never change Move mode, it’s occuring very often.

So I click another app and back to figma, it solve. But it’s happening again and again

@Figma

when will you fix the issue? It has been more than 1 year now.

Hi All, thanks for flagging this issue!

I completely understand how frustrating this must be. Since we’re not able to consistently reproduce this bug, it’s hard to exactly pinpoint the issue and fix.

If you run into this issue again, here are the best troubleshooting fixes to try:

  • Toggle Tools: Press V to switch to the move tool or H to toggle the hand tool off.
  • Press Spacebar: Tap the spacebar once to release it, as it acts as a shortcut.
  • Disable High Five: Click the Figma icon in the top-left, go to Preferences, and uncheck "Shake cursor for high five".
  • Refresh/Restart: Refresh your browser tab or restart the Figma desktop app.
  • Switch Tabs: Move to another tab in the browser or app, then come back.

If the problem persists after trying all of those, I suggest:

  • Clear Cache: Clear your desktop app or browser cache to resolve potential loading bugs.
  • Check Keyboard: Ensure your spacebar is not physically stuck.
  • Check Extensions: Temporarily disable browser extensions to rule out interference.

Hope these help, but if you are able to consistently reproduce the issue, please let me know the exact steps. With that information, I can relay it to the team to investigate further.
