I had 2 full seats on our account and were paying $40 a month. We downgraded to 1 full seat and 1 dev seat a few weeks ago expecting less of a charge but just got charged $48 dollars. We see we have 1 full seat and 1 dev seat now and yet we paid $8 more than we were when we were expecting low $30s.

Hey @amasat, thanks for reaching out!

The most common reason the first invoice after a seat change looks higher than expected: seat changes are billed with proration, so that invoice can include the prorated cost of the new seat type from the date of the change, on top of that seat's charge for the next full billing period. Since both land on the same invoice, it often looks inflated compared to what the new seat pricing alone would suggest, before settling into the expected amount the following month.

A couple of places that explain this in more detail:

Since I can't look into your account's specific invoice here on the forum for security reasons, I'd recommend submitting a request through our Support hub so the support team can confirm exactly what's in that $48 charge. It'll also help to check your next invoice, if it settles back down to the expected amount, that confirms it was a one-time transition charge; if it doesn't, definitely flag that to the team as well.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any further questions!
