Bad performance of Figma in the past 2/3weeks

We’ve been experiencing significant performance issues with Figma over the past 2–3 weeks, and it’s starting to impact our ability to work efficiently.

The problems we’re noticing include:

  • Very slow performance across the app (both web and desktop)

  • Delays when accessing files

  • Lag when using libraries

  • Major issues when working with components that contain nested instances

Everything was working fine during Q3, but this slowdown started recently and has been consistent since.

We’ve tried different networks and setups (including with and without VPN), but the issue persists.

Is anyone else experiencing similar problems lately? Any insights or updates from the Figma team would be greatly appreciated.

Hey @Tiago_Ferreira_Diniz, thank you for flagging this!

Since it sounds like you’re encountering several different issues (slow performance, delays, and component lag), the best next step would be for our technical quality team to take a closer look. Could you please submit a bug report, so they can fully investigate whats causing this?

It would also be great if you could include your desktop debug logs, as these provide valuable information to help us pinpoint the cause: Download Figma desktop app debug logs

Once you’ve sent that in, our team will review the details and follow up directly to help get this resolved as soon as possible.

Thank you for your help!

Same problem here, updating the library across files is incredibly slow. I need to refresh the page a few times to be able to change component variants. It is becoming very frustrating. The file sizes are not too large, the only change to our workflow has been upgrading to Figma Org.

Hey @Megan_McGlynn, thank you for flagging this!

To help our technical quality team dig deeper into what’s causing this, I’d suggest to submit a bug report using this form

If this is happening in your desktop app, it would also be super helpful if you could attach your desktop debug logs, as they’ll give the team valuable data to identify what’s going on.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help with!

Already issued the form, but this is being very incredibly slow. And is hard to my team to work.
