Auto Seat Upgrade Caused Unexpected Billing - No Response from Support

Nicole Park

Hi,

I submitted a support ticket 11 days ago but still haven’t received a response, so I’m posting here for help.

I originally purchased a single Dev Seat. While trying to edit a file, clicking the “Edit” button automatically upgraded my account to a Full Seat without a clear confirmation or warning.

Current situation:

  • My original Dev Seat is still unassigned.
  • I only needed the Full Seat temporarily for about one month, and I already canceled the subscription.
  • However, the upcoming invoice still shows a Full Seat charge.

What I’m requesting:

  • To only be charged the price difference for the month I used the Full Seat.
  • To ensure that no further Full Seat charges occur starting next month.

Has anyone experienced something similar, or is there any way to get billing support attention faster?

Thanks.

Hey @Nicole Park , Celine from Figma here. Sorry to hear you've been waiting 11 days without a response! I've escalated your case internally to increase visibility with the team. They'll be in touch with you directly as soon as possible to review your billing situation.

What you’re describing may happen when edit access requires a Full Seat upgrade, but I understand the confusion here, especially if the Full Seat was only needed temporarily and has already been canceled. I’d also recommend checking this Help Center articles on how to manage your Professional Plan and Manage seats in Figma .

Since this involves billing and subscription charges, we’re unfortunately not able to review or adjust the invoice directly here in the Forum for privacy and security reasons. The good news is that our Support team can review your seat history, confirm the cancellation timing, and check what options may be available regarding the upcoming charge.

In the meantime, to make sure no further Full Seat charges occur going forward, I'd recommend double-checking that your subscription has been fully cancelled under : Locate your team in the file browser sidebar → Click Admin → Select the Settings tabs→ In the Plan section, click Cancel plan.  for the next billing cycle. More information here.

Thanks again for your patience while the team reviews your request. 🙏

Update:  The Support team has resolved your issue! They confirmed that the charge was a prorated seat charge tied to the previous billing period.

They’ve also removed the unintended monthly Dev seat and the related charges from your account, so you won’t see any further billing for that seat going forward.

For more details, please check your support case directly.

I’ve gone ahead and closed the topic here, thank you!
