As an editor or admin role, I can't edit files

Hey ​@Tara Shankar Das , happy to help! This can happen when the files have a different owner — even if you're an Admin on the team, the file owner might still need to grant you edit access directly.

Can you double check if you see an "Ask to edit" button in the toolbar? If yes, it means you currently have view-only access.

I’d recommend to check who owns the file and ask them to update your permissions.
To request edit access:

1. Click the "Ask to edit" button in the toolbar to send a request.
2. Once approved, you'll receive both an email and in-app notification
3. Then, you should be able to edit the file right away!

If you don't see the "Ask to edit" button, access may be restricted by a team admin, or the files may be in another team / project.
