Another attempt to verify for Education Plan failed again - SheerID does not support anything!

My odyssee for verification as educator with SheerID goes on. At 31 Oct I was applying on the Verification Page of Figma once more. Uploading my university document as PDF resulted again in the message that “We need more information to approve your Teacher status”

Thus, I wrote an email to support@sheerid.com on 1 Nov:

Dear SheerID Team,

I am providing the requested details below:

Institution: xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Verification stage: I applied for the Figma Education License and was informed that I need to correct my verification document.

My uploaded document already includes:

• My full name (xxxxxxx)
• The full institution name (xxxxxx), which also appears in your dropdown list
• The issue date (6 Oct 2025), which is well within the required 60-day period

Please review my submission and approve my teaching status for Figma, or specify exactly what additional information or correction is required for approval.

I kindly ask that you do not refer me to the general FAQ, as I have reviewed it thoroughly and found no point where my documentation fails to meet the listed requirements.

 

Thank you for your time and prompt attention.

Today I finally received an answer, telling me that they cannot do anything and are closing the ticket - same procedure as 10 days ago:

Hello,
Thanks for contacting SheerID.
We were unable to process your verification request. While we can't offer further details or support for this specific inquiry, please ensure all information submitted is accurate and meets the eligibility criteria for future attempts. Your ticket has now been permanently closed. Kind regards,

Dear Figma Team, 

I am teaching at various German universities UI design, UX design and User Research. In the past 18 months I had introduced Figma to my students as the preferred tool. I had shown designers workflows in Figma, how to do screendesign, how to use it as a design system. Students were doing collaborative exercises in wireframes and mockups, both as homework and as examination work. I was thankful to Figma because they provided me easily with an educator license which allowed me to add my students as a team. No problem of verification in the past.

Now I have to switch to other tools in my classes, because I am not verified as a teacher anymore. Think about how much it will cost you in the future when I cannot act as a multiplicator for your software.
