When I am annotating a layer or frame, I usually go to the layer panel to select the next layer/frame I want to annotate and not directly on the artboard for accuracy. But when I do this the annotation I just worked on does not save.I always have to click into the art board to make sure it saves and then click layer panel. It’s not intuitive and frustrating when we’re dozens and hundreds of annotations.

Hi @hemrn

I understand this behavior may impact workflows that involve a large number of annotations.

Here’s what I observed:

  1. Click Annotation from the toolbar or use the shortcut Shift + T
  2. Select the layer you want to annotate
  3. Write a note in the text field
    • Click another layer in the Layers panel → The text field shifts to the newly selected layer without saving the annotation on the original one
    • Click another layer on the canvas → The annotation is saved

As you mentioned, the annotation is only saved if you click somewhere on the canvas before switching layers via layers panel, which isn’t very intuitive. Just a quick tip — instead of clicking on the canvas, pressing “Enter” will also save the annotation before moving on.

That said, I understand this still isn’t ideal for your workflow. I’ll share this feedback with our team for further consideration.

Thanks,
