Hello, all my work from the last eight months has disappeared from Figma. I always had access to it, including collaborative projects. After buying a new laptop, I installed Figma and logged in with my account. Now I don't have any work from the last eight months. I don't know what to do in this situation. Can you help or offer any advice?

Hey @Hillmoth — welcome to Figma Forum, and sorry to hear about the missing work. Let's see if we can track it down.

After a new laptop, I’ve seen in the past that it may come down to being signed into a different account than the one your files live on. Here are a few things to check:

  1. Verify your login method. Did you previously log in with email/password on your old laptop, but use "Continue with Google" on the new one (or vice versa)? These can connect to different Figma accounts even if the email looks the same. You can check which account you're in and switch here: Switch between accounts.
  2. Check the team picker. Your files may be under a different team in the sidebar. Click the team dropdown in the file browser and make sure you've checked all available teams, including their Drafts and Trash sections.
  3. Check with collaborators. If any teammates had access to your collaborative projects, ask if they still see the files — and if they can share a direct link back to you.
  4. Browser history. If you have access to your old laptop (or synced browser history), check for any saved Figma file URLs. Opening a direct link can sometimes resurface a file that isn't showing in the file browser.

If none of that turns anything up, let me know and I'll open a ticket with our Product Support team for a deeper look into your account. They can investigate behind the scenes.
