Hi!

I want to report a really troubling issue:
All changes I made yesterday in the morning are now missing. I was really confused when the file viewers contacted me stating I forgot a couple of todos. When I visited my file I saw that all the work I did yesterday is gone.

I am the only person with editing rights in the file. I checked the history. There is only one entry for yesterday when I wrote the email claiming “I am done with all the changes”. But this version does not contain any of the changes I made to the file.

How can this happen? How can I trust that this won’t happen again?

I use Figma locally on my Mac and I did not have any internet issues.

Hey @Katharina_Clasen - apologies for any concern. Just to clarify, you mentioned:

I use Figma locally on my Mac and I did not have any internet issues

Were you working on Figma while offline, then connected to the internet afterwards? Or do you mean “locally” like you were just working on your individual computer?

I can’t confidently tell you what happened at this time, but if you are able to share the file, our support team can take a look and give you more info.

If that’s possible, please do the following:

Let me know when you’ve done that, and I can escalate your submission.

Hi!
Sorry, that was a bit unclear:

  • by “locally” I meant that I was using my local Mac App (not the browser)
  • I was online the whole time (start to finish)

No worries - thanks for clarifying! In these cases, our support team gets involved to review the audit trail of the file. We do want to make sure that we provide you any possible explanations that are specific to your instance.

I don’t have access to the tools on my end to dig into this further, unfortunately.

What I can do is get you escalated help -- I took a look and I don’t see that you filed a support ticket at this time. Could you do so with this steps? It will really help us find out what happened:

Let me know when you’ve done this.
