AI Credits Exhausted Despite Limited Usage

Hello Team,

I would like to bring to your attention an issue I encountered with my AI credit usage.

Yesterday morning, my AI credit balance was 3,000 credits. During the day, I worked extensively in Figma, but based on my usage, I estimate that I consumed no more than approximately 1,000 credits.

However, in the next day, I received a notification indicating that my AI credits were fully exhausted. This behavior seems unexpected, as the credit consumption does not align with my actual usage within a single day.

Could you please help check:

  • Whether there have been any recent changes or updates to the AI credit consumption model, or
  • If there is any system issue, background process, or miscalculation that might have caused credits to be consumed unexpectedly

I would appreciate it if your team could review the credit usage logs and help identify the root cause of this issue.

Please let me know if you need any additional details from my end.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Hi Richa, Celyn from Figma here, thanks for taking the time to share these details.

To clarify, Figma uses an agentic AI system, so credit consumption can vary depending on a few factors:

  • Model used: more advanced models (like Claude Opus 4.6) generally consume more credits than the default model
  • Task complexity: more complex or multi-step requests or prompts can use more credits
  • Amount of context: including additional inputs (such as files or design libraries) can improve results, but may also increase credit usage

Please also note, for more visibility, you can review overall usage in the admin dashboard (Admin view).

This Help Center article also provides more details on how AI credits work and how to manage them.

That said, it's important to make sure everything adds up correctly. I'm not able to access account-specific details from this public space, so the best next step is to have our support team review your usage logs in detail.

I've created a support ticket on your behalf — your case number is #1812524, and a confirmation has been sent to the email associated with your Figma account.

Thanks for your patience while the team looks into this.

Hi Team,

I have reviewed and calculated my AI credit usage, and the total comes to 2,874 credits.

I need some clarification regarding the credit consumption for the changes listed below. I have provided these details in Figma Make AI, and I would like to understand how many credits would be consumed for each of these changes:

  1. Remove the extra right‑side space and increase the font size of the button.
  2. Change the font weight to bold. Change parent components if necessary to achieve this change.

  3. increase the icon size make align height with button and text

  4. Make the icon bigger align to the button

  5. icon should be aligning top and small text will come after the icon and button

  6. Please change font weight to normal. Change parent components if necessary to achieve this change.

  7. text should align left this will start after the icon does not align with button

  8. Desired structure: Icon | Button, Text (aligned with icon's left edge)

Could you please confirm the credit count for each of the above items?

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,
Richa

Hey Richa, Celine from Figma here, I am working closely with Celyn, happy to clarify! Thanks for taking the time to share such a detailed breakdown.

For agentic AI features like Figma Make, AI credit consumption isn't calculated per individual instruction. Instead, credits are used per AI action (prompt) and the total amount depends on factors like the type of AI action, complexity of the request, the model used, and any context provided.
To get a general sense of potential credit usage, feel also free to check some examples by agentic AI feature in Figma Make in our Help Center article.

Also, in order to keep an eye on our AI credit consumption:

Hope this helps clarify things — feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

I keep buying AI Tokens and they finish after very few prompts. Yesterday I payed 60 USD and they finished in about 3 or 4 prompts. Something is not right… kindly advise.

Thanks,

Adi

Hi @AdiGrosman — Celyn from Figma Community Support here.

Thanks for reaching out and for sharing the context.

Figma uses an agentic AI system, which means credit usage can vary based on factors like task complexity, the model used, and the amount of context provided. More complex prompts or actions that require multiple steps may use more credits. Usage can also differ by model — for example, more advanced models may consume more credits per request. Providing additional context, such as attached files or design libraries, can help improve results, but may also increase credit usage.!-->

I have cancelled my Figma subscription. The mount charged is unacceptable! Makes no sence to pay tens of dollars for a single prompt.
I would like to receive a detailed extract for the prompts I have made and the amounts charged.

Thanks,

Adi
