account stolen; how to regain?

hi

i hae an account with figma, and am hesitant to share personal inormation here, but that account was shared with me as a team member with me being an admin of the team.

We recently fired a designer, and before we could remove assets they went rogue, kicked us out of figma, and stole all of our designs.

We’re following up with approrpriate authorities, but want to see if there is anything (hopefully) we can do on this end. 

I have full control of the organization as an owner of it, can verify anything about it - even at the domain level (like txt record verification ) - including people with whom the account was shared, billing info, etc.

 

At this point, because we have been removed from the account, we are not only concerned with the designs, but with the fact that we were paying for figma and have no lost access, fundamentally making it impossible for us to change billing information, and ultiamtely causing us expense that we cannot control.

 

My hope is to have hte account restored with our rogue team member removed. please tell me if you can help.

Hey ​@cfern87 - appreciate you reaching out to check in on this. Totally understand that this is a complicated matter and that there are legal issues that have to be addressed.

I can’t advise on any next steps that you’ll be able (or need) to take on the Figma side. Since this does involve authorities and sensitive account information, I’ll need to escalate you to the appropriate teams internally to assist you further.

Just to make sure I understand: it sounds like the original owner of the team and files within it may be the rogue person you mention, but you yourself are the admin of the organization that the team is under. If I misunderstood, let me know.

I also know that this may be timely for you -- please PM me the email address (and the name) that the rogue Figma user is/was registered under, and the best email address to contact you directly with. I will get this escalated for review.

If you’d prefer to move your original message over to private PM’s entirely, you can copy + paste your original post, send it to me there, and then I can delete this thread. This may help you have some additional peace of mind, and I’m happy to do that.
