Hi everyone,
I accidentally approved extra paid seat upgrades today when multiple people sent me access requests on a Figma file. Some users were sending view access requests and some were sending upgrade/edit seat requests around the same time, and I mistakenly approved the paid seat upgrades from the notification/request flow in Figma.
I realized the mistake the same day and immediately revoked/downgraded/unassigned the extra users. No one is currently assigned to those extra seats, but my billing still shows additional seats and I am being charged extra for them — in my case, it is showing 8 added seats and a $96 seat update charge.
I tried contacting Figma Support, but I have not received a response yet. Waiting for them while I am anxiously Waiting
Has anyone faced this before?
Is there any way to remove accidentally added annual/monthly seats without being charged, especially when no one is assigned to them and they were revoked immediately ?
I also feel this flow should not work this way on a Professional account, because these are often used by individuals, freelancers, or very small teams — not dedicated billing/admin teams. Accidentally adding multiple paid seats from access requests does not make sense for this type of account, especially when there is no clear way to undo it immediately.
Also, I have noticed this seems to be a very common issue. Figma should really improve this flow because view requests and edit/paid seat upgrade requests can be easily confused in the notification bar, and one accidental approval can create unexpected high additional charges. This can happen to anyone, especially when managing multiple file access requests quickly.
Any advice, workaround, or insight from people who have dealt with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
