Accidental Extra Editor Seat Charge – Refund & Invoice Update Request

Hi Figma Support Team😶

I previously submitted a request through the Help Center (#1881810) regarding an accidentally added editor seat, but I haven’t received any response yet, so I’m following up here as well.

The extra seat was removed immediately after I noticed it. I only intended to keep my existing single Professional plan for personal use and did not mean to add any additional paid editor seats.

I also noticed that the upcoming monthly invoice scheduled for May 22 still includes the additional charge:
Seat updates – $12.67

Could you please review my case and update the invoice before the payment is processed?

I would also appreciate any help regarding the refund request for this unintended charge.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hey @sooya, I can see your ticket (#1881810) and understand that the extra editor seat was added unintentionally and removed right away.

Regarding the upcoming invoice on May 22 showing the $12.67 seat update, on monthly Professional plans, seat changes within a billing cycle can still result in prorated charges for the time the seat was active. Even if the seat was removed quickly, that usage may still appear on the invoice.

I understand this wasn’t intentional. However, payments for Figma subscriptions are generally non-refundable (as outlined in our Terms of Service).

We’ll also follow up on your support ticket. Really appreciate your patience in the meantime. Really appreciate your patience in the meantime.

@Gayani_S  Thanks for looking into my ticket.

The editor seat request came from a former collaborator I had worked with previously, and it appeared more like a permission approval than a paid subscription change. Since I was already subscribed to the Professional plan, I didn’t realize approving the request would immediately trigger an additional charge to my connected card.

The seat was removed almost immediately and was never actually used, so this was not an intentional seat expansion or feature usage. Because of this, I’d really appreciate it if you could consider waiving or refunding the prorated seat charge as a one-time exception.

Thank you again for your time and consideration.

Hey @sooya, thanks for taking the time to explain what happened!

For future collaboration, one option that can help avoid situations like this is using Connected projects. This allows two separate teams or organizations, like you and an external collaborator, to work together in a shared project while each uses seats from their own plan, so there’s no need to add and pay for extra seats on your side.
