I’m working on the UX/UI of a mobile app called KertApp, designed to help pet professionals keep health information organized in one place.
The main challenge I’m exploring is how to make health information easy to manage for people such as breeders, veterinarians, farriers, horse professionals, and other pet-care providers.
The app needs to handle different types of information, including:
- Vaccination and treatment records
- Health reminders and upcoming appointments
- Growth and activity tracking
- Reproduction-related information
- Pet and owner contact details
- Sharing relevant health records with other people involved in the animal’s care
From a UX perspective, I’m particularly interested in the balance between having enough information available and keeping the interface simple. A professional may manage information for multiple animals, but they still need to find an individual animal’s important health information quickly.
I’m currently thinking about questions such as:
- Should the main dashboard prioritize upcoming reminders, recent health activity, or the animal list?
- What is the best way to design navigation when one user may manage many animals?
- How much information should appear on an animal’s overview screen before it becomes overwhelming?
- Would you separate professional workflows from everyday pet-owner workflows, or keep them within the same interface?
- What UI patterns would you recommend for making medical/health records easy to scan without making the design feel too clinical?
I’d especially appreciate feedback from designers who have worked on healthcare, veterinary, animal-care, CRM, or other information-heavy products.
I’m interested in the reasoning behind your suggestions—particularly around information architecture, hierarchy, navigation, and reducing cognitive load.
