Figma’s help article indeed says that Gemini CLI cannot write to canvas with remote MCP server. Was wondering when that support would be added? As a heavy user of Gemini CLI, was hoping to not have to constantly switch to Claude Code when I experiment with designing!

Thanks for your post. I can totally understand why you’d want use Gemini CLI since you’re a heavy user. When it comes to supported clients, we're planning to enable this capability for more tools. As this is a brand new flow for us, we are being deliberate about how this is being rolled out so we can ensure a consistent experience and quality across tools and models.
We are moving quickly on adding more clients, so thank you in advance for your patience! I’m glad that you’re able to use Claude Code in the meantime - I’m sure that’ll make it an easy switch to Gemini CLI once you have that as an option.
