Hi,

What happens if I don’t renew my Figma account in future? Will I still be able to access the files I previously created? Please confirm.

Hey there, Celine from Figma here, happy to clarify!  What happens to your files depends on the plan you’re currently using, so could you let me know which plan you’re on now and which plan you’re considering moving to?

For example, if you’re on a Professional plan and decide not to renew, your team will automatically downgrade to the free Starter plan. Nothing gets deleted, you will still have access to your files.

However, the Starter plan has important limitations in your file and project:

  • You’re limited to 3 total Figma Design and Figma Sites files in a project AND 3 files per each other Figma product in a project (i.e., 3 Figma Slides files, 3 FigJam files, etc.).

  • Your team will be restricted to one project only. If your team currently has multiple projects, editing will be locked until files are reorganized to fit within Starter limits.

So, to keep editing on the free Starter plan, we usually recommend to move files to another team or to your Starter team's drafts. You can learn more about moving projects here
Please also note that for Figma Sites and Figma Make, any published sites and apps will automatically get unpublished when the plan downgrades.

You can find more details in our guide: Upgrade or downgrade your plan.
Hope this helps!
