What are those blue dotted lines?

I’ve copied an envelope icon from the Contact Icons Community Design File. When I paste the icon a blue dotted line appears with the icon. It won’t go away.
Anyone know more about this?

Hi there!

It looks like the blue dotted lines are caused by the constraints applied to the icon in the original file. If you check the Position panel, you’ll see custom constraints set there.

Resetting them to the default center constraints should remove the guide lines.

Hope this helps!

Tx . But I’m afraid not. The Contact Icons Community Design File doesn’t seem to use frames so the objects can not be constrained.

I think I explained it a bit unclear before.

The blue dotted lines show up only when the icon is inside a frame that does not use Auto Layout. In that case, Figma shows the constraint options.

If the icon is outside any frame, directly on the canvas, the dotted lines won’t appear.

Hope this makes it clearer 🙂

I see. When I change the constraints. The blue line changes.
So if I set the constraints to center/center, the blue line disappears behind the object.

Tx a heap.
