View Seat users cannot access figma.currentPage in plugin (Enterprise organization)

Hi Figma Support team,

However, we noticed the following issue:

Users with View seat in our organization cannot access figma.currentPage.

We want to clarify:

Is access to figma. currentPage restricted for View seat users?

Does accessing figma. currentPage require Dev seat or Full seat because it depends on Dev Mode APIs or document access privileges?

If possible, please provide official documentation on how seat type (View / Dev / Full) affects Plugin API access — especially figma.currentPage.

Hi ​@RKYSH, thanks for reaching out and apologies for the delayed reply! 

This is currently expected behavior for users with View only access. This is not explicitly documented anywhere, but since plugins can essentially “edit” a file when they are being run, plugin usage is limited to users with edit access.
