Version history

Figma's Professional plan has 3 options (Collab, Dev, and Full). I'd like to know if, with the cheapest plan, Collab, I'll be able to see the version history of my Figma files upon subscribing?

Hey @Waliwe, thanks for reaching out!

Yes, if you’re on a Professional team, version history is available. Professional (and Education) teams can access the full version history of a file, it’s not limited to 30 days like Starter teams.

With a Collab seat, you’ll have:

  • Full access to FigJam and Figma Slides

  • View and comment access in Figma Design files

  • Basic inspection (no Dev Mode)

  • No access to Design mode in Figma Slides

To view a file’s version history, you only need at least Can view access, so a Collab seat can view version history.

That said, viewers can’t modify version history. This means you won’t be able to:

  • Create or name versions

  • Restore previous versions

Those actions require edit access.

You can read more about how seats work here: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039960434-Manage-seats-in-Figma#how-seats-work

And more about version history access here: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038006754-View-a-file-s-version-history

Hope this helps!
