Seems like you can’t bind a mode to layer until there are some variables actually being used within that layer.
(To test this, create a blank frame with auto layout – no mode icon is visible on the layer. As soon as you apply a number variable to the frame padding the mode icon appears.)
Thanks for the post. I just want to clarify, are you inquiring about a mode icon for layers? If so, you can switch their modes if there is at least one variable applied and the variable has multiple modes.
I’m sorry, I was doing it the wrong way. I wanted to bind a boolean variable to my layer and I was expecting to see a icon where I could do it when I should, using the mouse, right click on the eye icon. Sorry for the inconveniece.
