Upgrade a Dev seat to a Full Design seat.

I am writing to request a billing adjustment.

I was previously on a Dev Mode seat ($15/mo). After using a few dozen AI credits, I realized the 500-credit limit was insufficient for my needs, so I decided to upgrade to a Full seat.

However, after clicking the upgrade, my next invoice shows a total of $40. I expected to pay only the prorated difference to upgrade my existing seat to Full (which should be around $20/mo in total for a monthly plan), but it seems the system has charged me for both seats separately.

I would like to:

  1. Cancel the redundant Dev seat and keep only one Full seat.

  2. Adjust the invoice so I am only charged the difference for the upgrade.

Please let me know how I should proceed to fix this and modify the charges.

Hi there, Celine from Figma here, thanks for explaining the situation!

I can see that you’ve already reached out to our support team about this, and I’ve added a follow-up note to your existing ticket so they have the full context. Billing and seat adjustments need to be handled securely by our Support team, as they’re the best equipped to review your account details and invoices in the backend. (Your case number is #1711338).

They’ll be able to review why both seats appear on the invoice, cancel the redundant Dev Mode seat, and confirm any billing adjustments or proration.

Please continue the conversation directly via your support ticket, the agent will follow up with you by email with next steps. Thanks for your patience while they take a closer look!

Just sharing an update here based on what the support agent confirmed in your ticket:

The charges have been fully resolved, and no further charges will be incurred moving forward. After the adjustments, you now have one remaining Full seat on your team.

For future reference, here are a couple of helpful guides to avoid unexpected charges: Manage seats in Figma and Guide to billing at Figma

If you need anything else, feel free to continue the conversation directly in your support case. I’ve gone ahead and close the topic there, thanks!
