I’m very new to Figma, so I don’t know a lot about it yet. I tried asking AI why this is happening, but I wasn’t able to get a satisfying answer.

I have two base components: “Input Box” and “Input Box Cap”. I want to combine them into a new component, “Capped Input Box”. I want the new component to only use properties from the base components.

“Input Box” has properties for length, placeholder, placeholder text, and platform (unused). “Input Box Cap” has one property for the icon. Every property works except length on “Input Box” - when I change that property through the child component, the “Input Box” does not change size. However, when I create an instance of “Input Box”, the length works properly.

I’ve attached screenshots of my components below. Please let me know if I can provide more details, thank you!
