Unable to accept cookie consent inside animated website preview on Community profile

Hi! I added my Framer portfolio website to my Figma Community profile using the new website link feature.

Figma displays the website as an animated preview inside a laptop mockup, but my cookie consent popup appears over the website. The preview is animated, but I cannot interact with it or click “Accept cookies”.

I noticed that other Community profiles show animated website previews without visible cookie banners. Is there a way to accept cookies inside the preview, make the preview remember consent, or hide the cookie banner only for this website preview?

This is not about Figma Sites or an embedded Figma prototype. It concerns the animated external website preview on a Community profile.

Website platform: Framer
Device: Mac
Browser: Chrome
The same issue also appears in the Figma desktop app

Hey @MarinaGoncharenko! Looking into this, and I see what you’re saying.

When you look at it on your end, is it just tiny in the corner like how I see it? Or is it taking up more space?

I’ll check internally on this -- this does seem like buggy behavior. Will update soon!

Hey @MarinaGoncharenko - just wanted to check in with an update for you:

I checked in with our community resource team, and unfortunately this isn't something we're able to fix on our end. The issue originates with the linked site itself: when the URL is added directly to a Figma Community profile, it pulls in a live preview of that site — including its cookie banner — and we don't have a way to interact with or suppress that within the module at the moment.

As a workaround, our team recommended uploading an image instead of using the URL preview. I've also filed this with our product team as a feature request, so they can look into a better long-term solution.

Let me know if you have any questions in the meantime!
