Hi, guys. I received a template from themeforest and when I examined the structure and wanted to customize it, I realized that the template is probably missing stuff.

It has a tons of components but most of them are just instances with no main component.

There are styles attached to some layers but I can’t edit them and when I press on the canvas, there are no defined color or text styles in the document.

When I go to the Assets, there are only a handful of components there, most are missing.

I imported the template from a .fig file. Am I doing something wrong or is it just a bad template that is missing stuff? I’m on a free account if that matters.

Hi @Undoriel, Thank you for reaching out regarding the template from ThemeForest, and I appreciate the details you’ve provided. While I’m not extensively familiar with third-party services, we’re here to help as much as possible.

Could you please double-check if the template includes any pages or sections for main components or styles?

When you select an instance within the template, do you see a sRestore component] button on the right sidebar? If so, try clicking that button to see if it restores the main component in your file.

For more information on this, you might find the following article helpful: Create components to reuse in designs - Restore a component

Regarding your free Starter plan, anyone with can edit access to a project can import files to the project. Since you’ve already imported the file, it seems the issue might be with the template file rather than your plan. You can find more detail here: Import files to the file browser

If the suggestions above don’t resolve the issue, it might be a good idea to contact the author of the template. I checked https://themeforest.net/ and seems you can comment from the Comments tab from the template page.
