Trying to export it as either a PNG or PDF

Hello Figma Support,

I designed a multi-page article/publication in Figma Make, and I am trying to export it as either a PNG or PDF.

I am having trouble finding clear export options in either Figma Make or Figma Design, and I am not sure whether direct PNG/PDF export is supported from Figma Make.

Can you please confirm:

  1. Is it possible to export a Figma Make design directly as a PNG or PDF?
  2. If not, what is the correct workflow for moving a Figma Make design into Figma Design for export?
  3. Does “Copy design” from Figma Make to Figma Design preserve the layout well enough for PDF/PNG export?
  4. Are there known export issues with Figma Make-generated files, including OKLCH color errors?
  5. What is the recommended process for exporting a multi-page article/publication created in Figma Make?

For context, the design is intended to become a polished PDF publication and/or individual PNG page exports. I need each page exported cleanly without layout shifts, cropped text, or missing visual elements.

Thank you,
Gabriel Clarke

Here is a screenshot of the error.

Hi, @Clarkeg365 👋 Your screenshot didn’t paste correctly. Feel free to re-add if you’d like.

To get you unblocked, let’s walk through the workflow together:

Figma Make doesn’t support direct PNG or PDF exports: You’ve actually nailed the correct workflow:

  1. Select Copy design at the top of the Figma Make toolbar

  2. Paste those layers into a Figma Design file

  3. From there, you can use the standard Export panel in the right sidebar. For a single multi-page PDF, just select all your page frames at once before exporting

Fidelity and Color Shifts: When you use Copy design, we aim to capture your preview as editable layers. Most spacing and typography should stay intact, but you might notice slight "fidelity drift" on complex CSS elements.

Regarding the OKLCH errors: Figma Design doesn't natively support the OKLCH color space in the color picker yet, so it converts those values to hex on paste. This often causes shifts if your file is set to a Display P3 color profile.

One quick question: Once you paste into Figma Design, what specifically is breaking compared to the Figma Make preview? Is it just the color shifts, or are you seeing layout reflows and cropped text too? Talk soon! — Jaycee
